Where the Stars Gather

The Sydney CDI*** has, yet again, cemented itself as Australia's most prestigious international dressage competition with big entries received across the levels for this year's event.

A HIGH STANDARD ASSURED AT ALL LEVELS

The standard of entries is very strong ensuring a high standard of performance across all levels. More than 180 riders guiding 220 horses have entered the competition.

A RECORD NUMBER OF ADVANCED LEVEL ENTRIES

A record number of horses entered this year's Advanced Tournament and a separate division for Amateur Adult Owner/Riders was created. Both divisions are highly competitive with many formidable combinations on the start list.

INTERNATIONAL PONY COMPETITION FOR YOUNG RIDERS

This is the first year that the Sydney CDI has offered a CDI-P (international pony competition) for riders aged 12 to 16 years. The Organisers are pleased with the response and the young riders are excited and looking forward to being part of the event.

YOUNG HORSE CHAMPIONSHIPS

The horses of the future will feature in the Young Horse Championships with rounds held over three days.  All the Champions from the recent PSI Dressage Jumping with the Stars have entered and the pressure will be on these riders to continue their winning streak.  Melanie Campbell (nee Schmerglatt) will ride the top three finalists in each age group in front of a panel of judges who together will determine the Sydney CDI Young Horse Champions.

TOP SPOT MARQUEE

Spectators can still enjoy the 2017 Sydney CDI from the luxury of the Top Spot Marquee.  The popular Saturday night dinner has sold out but VIP day passes to the marquee for morning or afternoon tea, lunch with Wild Oats wine, great coffee all day and VIP parking are available.

YOU BE THE JUDGE

Organisers of the 2017 Sydney CDI*** are giving the audience the chance to put themselves in the judges' seats, with a new  “Spectator Judging” app allowing spectators to score competitors. In a first for the Australasian region, spectators can download the free app and experience judging first hand as they unofficially “score” each competitor as if they were in the judges’ boxes.
