The review process for any changes required for 2015 can now begin and details of this process can be found here. We invite all National Federations, veterinarians, athletes, grooms, judges and other interested parties to submit their suggestions for consideration by the List Group in preparation of the 2015 List.

All submissions of FEI Prohibited Substance List Suggestions Forms for changes should be received by the FEI Veterinary Department no later than 21 February 2014 for consideration during 2014.

Changes to the 2014 Veterinary Regulations
The 2014 FEI Veterinary Regulations came into effect on 1 January 2014. We therefore ask our National Federations to ensure that all stakeholders are aware of the changes. To facilitate this, the FEI Veterinary Department has produced asummary of the changes to the FEI Veterinary Regulations. This document can also be downloaded here.

Equine Anti-Doping and Controlled Medication Sampling outside of Groups I and II
Please be reminded that for 2014, at Events not directly administered by the FEI Veterinary Department (i.e. outside FEI Regional Groups I and II) EADCMP sampling is obligatory and 5 per cent of Horses - or a minimum of 3 - must be tested at the following categories of Events and disciplines:

  • CCI3* and CCI4*,
  • CDI 3*CDI 4* and CDI 5*,
  • CEI 3* and CEI 4*
  • CSI 3*CSI 4*and CSI 5*,
  • CIOs, World Cup Qualifiers and Cup Finals,Championships and Games

At all other CIs, EADCMP sampling remains a strong recommendation, as per Article 1057 of the FEI Veterinary Regulations 2014 and FEI EADCM Regulations 2014.

Any questions or concerns may be addressed to the FEI Veterinary Department by email.

Nomination of Pony Measuring Veterinarians by National Federations
We would like to remind our National Federations to propose two Pony Measuring Veterinarians within their structures who would be willing to undertake FEI measuring duties, as per Article 1018 of the FEI Veterinary Regulations 2014.These names must be communicated to the FEI Veterinary Department by 22 February 2014.

FEI Global Endurance Injuries Project
National Federations are reminded that the Global Endurance Injuries Study (GEIS), which is part of an Injuries Surveillance System (ISS) that will be applied to all FEI disciplines in the future, was launched in November 2013 to ensure a more consistent approach to data collection by FEI Veterinary Officials.

To this end, National Federations should ensure that Official Veterinarians asked to fill in the FEI Injury and Illness Reporting Form for each injured horse at events submit the completed document to FEI HQ within 72 hrs. It must be accompanied by the Veterinary Report, as stipulated by Article 1036 of the FEI Veterinary Regulations. The injury and medical information received by the FEI will only be used for injury surveillance and risk assessment and will remain strictly confidential.

National Federations are requested to inform the Organising Committees of Endurance Events on their territories that participation in the study is mandatory.

All questions and concerns may be addressed to the FEI Veterinary Department by email.
