Sydney CDI Set for Spectacular 6-Year-Old Showcase

AEIE Futurity Offers World’s Richest Prize for Young Dressage Horses

If the EBM Dressage by the Sea at Willinga Park is anything to go by, the 6-year-old division at the 2026 Sydney CDI promises to be a highlight of the event.

All combinations that started in either the first or second round of the 6-year-old classes at Dressage by the Sea have now qualified for the Sydney CDI – AEIE Young Horse Championships.

In the first-round 6-year-old qualifier, seven horses scored over 70%, with the leading combinations:

  • Danielle McMahon – Remi Furstin Hit: 79.40%
  • John Thompson – Aber Fashion MI: 77.80%
  • Rachael Clarke – Tarcoola Secret Stash: 76.70%

The standard remained high in the second round, with six horses posting scores over 70%. The top three placings were:

  • Lizzie Wilson-Fellows – Hollands Bend Secret’s Out: 76.20%
  • John Thompson – Zaire MI: 76.20%
  • John Thompson – Aber Fashion MI: 76.00%

AEIE is once again presenting the AEIE 6YO Dressage Futurity, offering the world’s richest first-place prize money for a six-year-old dressage horse: $6,000, with total prize money of $7,500. This is an outstanding opportunity to showcase talented young horses on a premier international stage and to be rewarded for excellence.

To be eligible, riders must achieve a minimum qualifying score of 63% at a recognised Young Horse qualifier. With entries closing on 18 March, now is the time to secure your qualification and submit your entry.
